We are coming into a season of “alignment” in every area of existence. Jesus said this about the end of the age in Luke 21:25-28 (ESV)

“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26 people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

In other words, when things begin to happen, “look up”. In other words, come into proper alignment for Jesus’ purposes are going to be realized. There is a chiropractic adjustment called the “Ring Dinger”. It was started, I believe, by a Christian chiropractor in Houston, Texas. The idea was to lift your head up, wrap a towel around the back, and relax totally as the doctor totally gives a tremendous pull on the head. If the head doesn’t pull off (just kidding), the adjustment total aligns your spine. I’ve have seen the practice heal peoples backs from disc issues and bring total relief to years of back pain. Hopefully, the practice will grow in popularity.

I heard recently that all the planets in our solar system will come into perfect alignment for the only time in our lifetime. Isn’t that amazing? Peter gave this exhortation in Acts 3:19-21 (ESV)

“Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, 20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,21 whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.

The word “Repent” is the Greek word,  μετανοέω (metanoeó). The definition means to repent, change my mind, change the inner man (particularly with reference to acceptance of the will of God), repent.

In my almost 50 years of Pastoral ministry, I’ve witnessed many people who changed their minds about certain sins but not change their behavior. That is not true repentance. Repenting is about coming into alignment with God’s word which include the instruction from the Holy Spirit.

Peter then says, that when you do, that will initiate the coming of the presence of the Lord which leads us to refreshing and restoration.

So I encourage all of us to come into alignment in every area of our lives so that we can all experience His presence and restoration.
