There is so much confusion and misinformation out in the media right now that if not careful, it can create a lot of anxiety and frustration, What is really important to remember is that God is totally in control of all that is happening. Daniel who was an incredible statesman and man of God in his own right said this about God in Daniel 2:20-23 (ESV)
Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. 20 Daniel answered and said:
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
to whom belong wisdom and might.
21 He changes times and seasons;
he removes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those who have understanding;
22 he reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him.
23 To you, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
for you have made known to us the king's matter.”
God is about shifting and moving leaders and kings according to His purposes on the earth.
Then Jesus said this according to the timing of His kingdom in Acts 1:6-7 (ESV)
“ So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.”
\The word “fixed” means I put, place, lay, set, fix, establish. The understanding that the “free-will” that we have flows and operates within the parameters of His purposes in the earth.
Within the context of His sovereignty, He chooses men to have a part in having part in the laying out of His will. Jesus told us to pray this way in Matthew 6:10 (ESV)
“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
We’re also told that we are a “kingdom kingdom of priests” twice in the book of Revelation. A priest is one who stands between heaven and earth on behalf of men. The wonderful thing is that we have a benevolent God who is not willing that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9). God so loved the world that He gave his only Son so that we could be brought back into relationship with a Holy God. The Lord has given us an opportunity to be involved in co-laboring with Him. I believe our prayers can effect timing of God’s movements just as Elijah did.
Just like the enemies of God could not keep Jesus in the tomb, no man can stand in the way of what’s coming. The Book of Revelation speaks of a victorious Christ who defeats the enemy in every generation and age. All the future victories are guaranteed by the resurrection of Jesus. What does the future look like?
The prophet Habakkuk says this in 2:14 (ESV)
“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”
Paul says this in Philippians 2:10-11 (ESV)
“that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
And finally, Jesus said this in Matthew 24:12-13 (ESV)
“And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
“Glory, confession and Gospel of the Kingdom”. That sounds like awakening to me. No matter how dark or confusing it looks, God is moving toward a glorious finish to this age and we just happen to be a part of what He’s doing.
Lastly, we must realize that God also uses imperfect men to accomplish His purpose. Joel calls the Assyrian Army who was perhaps the most brutal army in history the “army of the Lord” (Joel 2:1-11). They brought judgement and dispersing to the 10 tribes of Israel, the Northern Kingdom in 722 BC because of continued disobedience to the Lord. All their Kings were evil. Not one sought after the Lord.
Cyrus the Great, the infamous Persian King who reigned 500 plus years before Christ was a pagan King liberated Israel from captivity from the Babylonians. Cyrus was called “the Lord’s Annointed”. There is a great chapter in Isaiah which defines Cyrus’ role in history. It is not original with me but I’ve heard that Donald Trump is like a modern Cyrus who God is using the deliver the world from the “Babylonian Cabalic” systems of financial slavery. Personally, I believe that this will pave the way for the glory of God to be seen in every nation. Interestingly enough, the chapter in Isaiah is chapter 45 with DJT also being the 45th US President. I’m going to close with this. Read it and allow yourself to be encouraged that great days are ahead for America. You can’t stop what’s coming!!
Isaiah 45 (ESV)
Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, (DJT)
whose right hand I have grasped,
to subdue nations before him
and to loose the belts of kings,
to open doors before him
that gates may not be closed:
2 “I will go before you
and level the exalted places,
I will break in pieces the doors of bronze
and cut through the bars of iron,
3 I will give you the treasures of darkness
and the hoards in secret places,
that you may know that it is I, the Lord,
the God of Israel, who call you by your name.
4 For the sake of my servant Jacob,
and Israel my chosen,
I call you by your name,
I name you, though you do not know me.
5 I am the Lord, and there is no other,
besides me there is no God;
I equip you, though you do not know me,
6 that people may know, from the rising of the sun
and from the west, that there is none besides me;
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
7 I form light and create darkness;
I make well-being and create calamity;
I am the Lord, who does all these things.8 “Shower, O heavens, from above,
and let the clouds rain down righteousness;
let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit;
let the earth cause them both to sprout;
I the Lord have created it.9 “Woe to him who strives with him who formed him,
a pot among earthen pots!
Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’
or ‘Your work has no handles’?
10 Woe to him who says to a father, ‘What are you begetting?’
or to a woman, ‘With what are you in labor?’”11 Thus says the Lord,
the Holy One of Israel, and the one who formed him:
“Ask me of things to come;
will you command me concerning my children and the work of my hands?[b]
12 I made the earth
and created man on it;
it was my hands that stretched out the heavens,
and I commanded all their host.
13 I have stirred him up in righteousness,
and I will make all his ways level;
he shall build my city
and set my exiles free,
not for price or reward,”
says the Lord of hosts.14 Thus says the Lord:
“The wealth of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush,
and the Sabeans, men of stature,
shall come over to you and be yours;
they shall follow you;
they shall come over in chains and bow down to you.
They will plead with you, saying:
‘Surely God is in you, and there is no other,
no god besides him.’”15 Truly, you are a God who hides himself,
O God of Israel, the Savior.
16 All of them are put to shame and confounded;
the makers of idols go in confusion together.
17 But Israel is saved by the Lord
with everlasting salvation;
you shall not be put to shame or confounded
to all eternity.18 For thus says the Lord,
who created the heavens
(he is God!),
who formed the earth and made it
(he established it;
he did not create it empty,
he formed it to be inhabited!):
“I am the Lord, and there is no other.
19 I did not speak in secret,
in a land of darkness;
I did not say to the offspring of Jacob,
‘Seek me in vain.’[c]
I the Lord speak the truth;
I declare what is right.20 “Assemble yourselves and come;
draw near together,
you survivors of the nations!
They have no knowledge
who carry about their wooden idols,
and keep on praying to a god
that cannot save.
21 Declare and present your case;
let them take counsel together!
Who told this long ago?
Who declared it of old?
Was it not I, the Lord?
And there is no other god besides me,
a righteous God and a Savior;
there is none besides me.22 “Turn to me and be saved,
all the ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.
23 By myself I have sworn;
from my mouth has gone out in righteousness
a word that shall not return:
‘To me every knee shall bow,
every tongue shall swear allegiance.’24 “Only in the Lord, it shall be said of me,
are righteousness and strength;
to him shall come and be ashamed
all who were incensed against him.
25 In the Lord all the offspring of Israel
shall be justified and shall glory.”
The Best is yet to come!! YAY GOD!!
