There is a major sensing that this year’s “Rosh Hashanah” will bring major changes from both a prophetic and global perspective. Time will certainly tell if this is true but it would seem that our world is demanding change. The dates of this year’s Jewish New Year begins this Sunday at sundown and will end on Tuesday, September 27. We can read about “Rosh Hashanah” in Leviticus 23:23-25 (ESV)
“The Lord said to Moses, 24 “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. 25 Do no regular work, but present a food offering to the Lord.’”
“Rosh Hashanah is a two-day observance and celebration that begins on the first day of Tishrei, which is the seventh month of the ecclesiastical year. In contrast to the ecclesiastical lunar new year on the first day of the first month Nisan, the spring Passover month which marks Israel's exodus from Egypt, Rosh Hashanah marks the beginning of the civil year, according to the teachings of Judaism, and is the traditional anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, the first man and woman according to the Hebrew Bible, as well as the initiation of humanity's role in God's world.
Rosh Hashanah customs include sounding the shofar (a cleaned-out ram's horn), as prescribed in the Torah, following the prescription of the Hebrew Bible to "raise a noise" on Yom Teruah. I’s rabbinical customs include attending synagogue services and reciting special liturgy about teshuva as well as enjoying festive meals. Eating symbolic foods is now a tradition, such as apples dipped in honey to evoke a sweet new year (wikipedia.org)”
There are just so many things that are happening to us as a church right now that make the timing with Rosh Hashanah seem more than just a coincidence. Along with moving out of our home for the last 22 years, today I discovered that our “tax-exempt” status also expires on September 30th. Our continued disentangling from the “Cabalic” system also seems to be right on time.
I remember years ago, Kim Clement was here and prophesied the Things would transpire in such a way that the end of the year would be a very “Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas!” Since everything he prophesied in the 2000’s seems to be for the present time, perhaps this is the year he was speaking about. Wouldn’t that be great? All we can do is live a life of daily repentance as we wait for God to move according to His plan. The scriptures do say that “His mercies are new every morning” so every day should be a day of celebration and thanksgiving. Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Ready yourself to be blessed by God supernaturally in this next season. I am getting a real sense that we’re moving into some significant “days of awe”.
Time to repent of all doubting and cynicism and keep your eye focused on Him. This is not the time to allow past disappointments rob you of present expectations and future glory. He is for you, not against you. It’s time to put your hope in God. Even as the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 33:20-22 (NLT)
20 We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. 21 In him our hearts rejoice,for we trust in his holy name. 22 Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in you alone.
Happy Jewish New Year everyone, get ready for change and blessing from the Lord. New “beginnings” are upon us. Oh, one more thing, we’re moving from and address with lots of six’s and moving into an address with 8 and 7’s in the address, 8707 Indian Springs Rd. Needless to say, we’ll have a little more spiritually positive address. This Saturday will be our last official service followed by a “pot-luck” lunch and then “tear down”. We trust that many of you will be able to help Saturday and Sunday. God bless!
