The Joseph anointing is about to come into view in this next season. I believe God is bringing everything into proper alignment for the greatest harvest the world has ever seen. Those with this calling will be called to finance what God is going to do. The “Joseph anointing” of course refers back to the Joseph in the book of Genesis who was sold into slavery by his brothers yet God prepared him to save the purposes of God by the saving of his brothers, his betrayers by providing for them in a world-wide famine. Like Joseph, God has been preparing these individuals called through much delay and tribulations. They must come to both emotional and spiritual maturity before the Lord can trust them with much wealth. As it says in James 1:2—8 (ESV)
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
Many brothers have been betrayed and delayed in their calling because like their name sake, God has a preparing them. During this season of preparation, God has been developing their character, teaching them patience and refining them to become proper stewards of the little they presently have. Thus, they must have a clear understanding of Deut. 8:18 (ESV);
“18 You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day”.
As they keep this principle in mind, it will help keep their wealth in perspective as God entrusts it to them. For the last eleven years, I have been “spiritual advisor” and partner for Ecobiotix LLC, an environmental company. The following is a devotion written by my business partner, Ty Duggins as he considers this Joseph anointing on his own life.
“GOD is seeking a yielded place of rest to lay His head. A yielded heart to plant His covenant seed to yield His promised harvest. The Joseph anointing lies not in the gifting of the vessel...but in the compliant submission of the vessel to the Holy Spirit!! Ego, pride & vanity are surrendered to a heart of humility, honor and compassionate virtue!!
This anointing resides in the heart of GOD and is dispensed by Him to lift up and preserve a nation that displays His glory by declaring Him it's Lord and King!! Have we humbled ourselves and returned to Him in our hearts? Do we profess it out of our lips only? Are we more satisfied with the pride of life, than our free will love offering of our hearts?
Does not the Word say that the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it? (Jer. 17:9)
Father, how do we transfer the wealth of the wicked into the hands of the righteous? How do we identify the righteous of GOD? What and where is Your storehouse? How, where and why do I find the application of your Word to activate the anointing that seeds the nation with your harvest flow? What is/are the condition(s) of your promise to be fulfilled? Are the Sons of GOD in the midst waiting to be released or are they being withheld? By whom...by our disobedience or by Your Will?
This is a beginning...”
