When Cornerstone moved into its present facility over 22 years ago, I sensed the Lord telling me that we would know when He was done with us and would have another place ready for us to go. Well, that notification came last Thursday when our Muslim landlord asked us to be out by the end of August (he later changed it to September after my dear wife asked him for a month extension). After letting the shock pass, we both began to get excited about the future realizing that the Lord in constantly moving to increased levels of glory, 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (ESV)
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
So, we can confidently say that “the best is yet to come”! The Lord also brought to mind when the Israelites moved from Egypt into the desert. They left Egypt with all its riches. God continually demonstrated His faithfulness to them. They were being taken from captivity from one system to the freedom of being under the glory of God. What an incredible manifestation of glory that must have been, Exodus 13:21-22 (ESV)
“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. 22 The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.”
Yet after such a display of the splendor of the Lord, they still fainted and grew weak in the face of battle. After, the Lord hardened Pharoah’s heart, he pursued them in a set up that would absolutely destroy the power of the great Egyptian civilization. Exodus 1413-14 (ESV)
“And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”
It is because of God’s faithfulness of the past that we can trust Him for the future. All through this process, we have been faced with the unknown. However, God has constantly reminded me of His prophetic promises given to over the years that I have been warring with. Just as the Apostle Paul told young Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:18-20 (ESV)
“This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith, 20 among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.”
God has much more for us to do so we launch out into the deep of this next season of the life of Cornerstone Frederick. Please pray with us that we will fulfill the fullest, that which He has spoken over us. We desire to be a place where each person the Lord brings to us will be heled up from life’s hurts, removing all ground the enemy has had to torment and moving into the fullness of restoration of all that Christ has for us this side of heaven. If you have at all been blessed over the years with our ministry, we invite you to join with us and investing in the future of this ministry. You can go on our website “cornerstonefrederick.com” and invest into the future of what God has in store for us. You will forever be a part of us. Above all, pray for the leadership that we no fall short of what God has for us through fear, doubt or double mindedness. I’m also claiming what Paul said to Timothy as Timothy was launching out as a pastor of the church of Ephesus. 2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
I close with this verse which has been my encouragement over the last few days; 1 Corinthians 2:9 (ESV)
“But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—
The future is always glorious in Jesus!!!
