I believe we are entering into the days that we have heard of…. days of awe. There will be a sense of awe as in these days there will be a complete yielding to the leading of His Spirit which will result in complete demonstrations of His Spirit. It will be a time when we are so aware of the preferences, the leading and guiding of Holy Spirit that we will be a people who truly are spirit-led. Over the years, the body of Christ has experienced church services that were mostly flesh or religion. We have had services that were a mixture…. flesh and the spirit. But as we determine to press in and passionately desire His full control, we will see a complete move of His Spirit as never before…no more interruptions with man’s ideas and tradition. Everything will be submitted and orchestrated by Holy Spirit.
Recently we have heard of more and more revelation being released that has opened the door to a greater understanding of the spirit realm and our ability to enter and partner with that realm. Truly we have entered the open-door season! Some may wonder, why now? Why did we not have these insights before? There have been forerunners in this type of living by the spirit. William Branham and Neville Johnson are a few. I sense the reason is because we are in a special timing of God. The great things He desires to accomplish upon this earth will not be able to be accomplished in the strength of our flesh. Being in His timing and following the spirit will be of the essence. It is going to take much more than our flesh can accomplish. This greater works that Jesus spoke of can and will only be demonstrated by those who have determined to ascend above our past accomplishments, our past failures, our past ways of doing things no matter how great they were. It will be through those who have crucified their flesh and yielded their lives and their wills to His alone. Those who have their ears tuned to the voice of the Spirit will readily discern what is of the flesh and what is of the spirit.
I believe there is going to be such a spontaneous flow of His Spirit through those who have yielded themselves, their agendas, and their will to the ways of His Kingdom. In this way not only will the way we live change, but also the way we minister, and how we congregate together. There will be spontaneous preaching and teaching. There will be spontaneous worship. There will be spontaneous healings and deliverances that the testimonies will be, “No one even touched me or laid hands on me!” There will be a true fluid moving of Holy Spirit, woven together as only He can do.
By yielding completely to His Spirit, we will find a greater measure of effectiveness in ministry. Where we used to be led by plans or programs, we will now witness as we are directed by His Spirit where we go and what we say produce more Kingdom results than being led by a workbook and previously written text scripts. Man’s methods can not and never will be as effective as ministry by the spirit. Such methods may have been anointed in prior seasons, but the season has now changed.
These will be days it will be said of us that “these people are different”. The testimony of our lives will be “these are ones who have been with Jesus”. We will be as Jesus was through His obedience being led of the spirit even into the wilderness. Remember after this time of the wilderness, He came out in the power of the Spirit!
So, what do we do to be prepared for the time He begins to breath upon us? We begin to strengthen our spirit man. 1) Pray in the Spirit.
Jude 1:20 “But you, beloved, build yourselves up on: [the foundation of] your most holy faith [continually progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], pray in the Holy Spirit,”
Paul said he prayed in the spirit more than all. The result was he had visions, revelations of the Lord and was caught up into Paradise. 2) Remain in the Word to remain doctrinally aligned. I personally have experienced not only a spiritual strengthening but also a very real physical strengthening in my body during a difficult season in my life. 3) When you receive revelation through His word, a prophetic encounter of dream, don’t take it lightly. Go deeper into that revelation by beginning to meditate upon it, imagine or see yourself doing what has been revealed to you.
In conclusion, my prayer for Cornerstone is this:
“When I think of the wisdom and scope of his plan, I fall down on my knees and pray to the Father of all the great family of God—some of them already in heaven and some down here on earth— that out of his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you the mighty inner strengthening of his Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.” Ephesians 3:14-19
